    LPN Details

    Essential Job Duties:

  • Assessment: Conducts thorough patient assessments, including physical exams and discharge planning considerations.

  • Planning: Collaborates on care plans, engages patients/families in goal setting.

  • Implementation: Assists with patient care, respects rights, responds to emergencies, and educates patients based on diagnosis, surgery plan, post-op care, as well as precautions and risks.

  • Evaluation: Applies rationale based on principles and seeks help to prevent errors.

  • Professional Conduct: Demonstrates knowledge, maintains self-evaluation, follows policies, and participates in education and goal setting.

    Qualifications:

  • High school graduate/GED.

  • Graduate from a one-year Practical Nursing program.

  • Special study of medications, their administration and side effects are necessary before assuming the responsibility of preparing and administering medications.

    License/Certification:

  • Currently registered with the Indiana State Board of Nurses Registration and Nursing Education as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

  • BLS level of CPR certification is required.
