Robert Half Sr. Cost Accountant in Richmond, Indiana
Description We are seeking a Sr. Cost Accountant to assist our client in Richmond, Indiana. The role involves in-depth cost analysis, auditing processes, and maintaining accurate financial records. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity with possibility of converting to a permanent role
Responsibilities:
• Collection, verification, and production of the monthly Federal Milk Market Analysis Report. • Conducting detailed analysis of product costs, including but not limited to dairy commodities, other ingredients, packaging, and freight. • Management of pricing update processes, including monthly and quarterly price model updates. • Resolution of pricing errors/deductions issues, pricing tracking, and reporting on a daily basis. • Overseeing product cost and margin forecasts. • Performing in-depth analysis of various production data, work order analysis, and shrink reports. • Leading monthly inventory valuation and analysis process. • Acting as the primary resource for new product costing and margin analysis. • Partnering with plant management to drive performance through data analysis. • Assisting in the development and continued maintenance of standard cost processes and variable analysis. • Performing monthly reconciliations for designated accounts, monitoring financials for discrepancies and trends. • Utilizing advanced knowledge of Accounting Software Systems, JDE experience preferred. BlackLine, Costpoint, DCAA, Accounting Functions, Auditing, Budget Processes, Cost Accounting, and Cost Analysis to ensure best practices are implemented. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Familiarity with BlackLine and Costpoint systems
• Knowledge of DCAA regulations and requirements
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Auditing skills and experience
• Experience in Budget Processes
• Proficiency in Cost Accounting and Cost Analysis
• Familiarity with various Costing techniques
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• detail oriented certification (CPA or CMA) is preferred
• Understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
