The Quality Food Safety Team Lead is responsible for a qualified team to ensure Company quality standards are met in the following areas:

  • Food Safety Compliance: Understands and implements all plant, company and government standards for Food Safety, Environmental monitoring, HACCP, GMP, Chemical Control, Foreign Material Control, Pest Control, and FSMA initiatives.

  • Documentation / Communication: Ensures that the food safety records are maintained and reported on a need to know basis. Additionally, interprets data and successfully communicates results to appropriate individuals, including management.

  • Training and standardization: Develop, design, and deliver quality training, new process training, new equipment training, and new policy training to new hires and existing employees.

  • Continuous Improvement: Understands and drives the plant food safety processes, environmental monitoring and pest control performance issues.

  • Cleaning / Sanitation: Understands, implements and maintains all plant equipment cleaning and sanitizing in an efficient and timely manner to ensure the plant is in compliance with all food safety requirements. Includes the monitoring of the sanitation program.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for execution and documentation of the Plant Food Safety Program. Including documentation of all CCP, HACCP, FDA, Product Release requirements and Pest Control program.

  • Responsible for investigating all non-conformance issues related to food safety, environment, microbiology, and foreign material control using CAPA process.

  • Leads microbial sampling plan. Ensures environmental swabbing and testing program is adhered to and in accordance with Corporate Quality SOP’s.

  • Leads internal GMP, quality standards and system audits for the facility.

  • Identifies and starts quality improvements, guiding on process, product, and quality system.

  • Measures and report plant Quality metrics.

  • Leads compliance of Corporate & Plant quality SOPs.

  • Assist with execution and follow up of regulatory, internal and external audits (i.e. FDA, USDA, AIB, State, etc.).

  • Works with Plant Engineers to ensure accurate Sanitary Equipment Food Design of new capital projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 1 year of food safety experience

  • 3 of years manufacturing experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Microbiology background.

  • At least 3+ years of supervisory experience.

  • Experience in Cleaning and Sanitation programs.

  • Certification in PCQI, HACCP or GMP

  • Auditing and compliance experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $81 200,00 - $119 700,00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually

  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually

  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year

  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
