Peoples Bank Retail Banking Group Leader in Munster, Indiana
JOB SUMMARY
Oversees all aspects of assigned group of banking center functions. Manages and delegates responsibility to banking center managers and provides direction to managers to ensure achievement of goals. Ensures consistent and efficient delivery of services to the Bank's customers by managing the interactions between operations and the banking functions. Recommends and implements new deposit related services. Ensures adherence to regulatory standards. Understands strategic goals of the Bank and establishes department's responsibility in achieving them. Responsible for the strategic direction of assigned Retail Banking group and ensuring banking center policies and programs are consistent with overall department and Bank objectives. Communicates the Bank's culture and brand message through the image of the banking center facilities and staff. Assists with the solicitation of new customers for the Bank's Commercial, Municipal and Retail Areas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotes a strong public image of the Bank and the Peoples brand through interaction with customers, employees, shareholders and stakeholders.
Actively works with managers to help achieve growth goals by identifying targets, prospects and areas of concentration. Monitors and provides feedback regarding their business development efforts.
Actively works with managers to ensure high degree of service expectations are met.
Makes sales calls on business leaders in the community to promote the Bank. Accompany managers on sales calls when appropriate.
Make recommendations with respect to rates as it relates to the cost of funds, competition in the local market and customer relations. Sets goals for managers for limiting fee waivers and contributing to the Bank's non-interest income.
Participates in the yearly preparation of the Retail Strategic Plan, including growth goals, needs assessment and performance objectives and drivers. Assists in the development, implementation and monitoring of the service and market sales plans.
Actively supports deposit, loan and wealth management growth.
Contributes to Retail banking as it relates to strategic initiatives including site locations, deposit growth, banking center loan growth, pricing, product offering and administrative issues.
Serves as a champion of employee growth and development.
Assists with preparation of the annual budget for the Retail Banking sector. Controls expenses, adheres to established budget, and emphasizes to managers their responsibility for cost control.
Makes staffing decisions plus salary and promotion recommendations.
Represents the Bank at various regional community and Bank functions throughout the year. Volunteer in regional community organizations.
Participates in key management committees and projects.
Participates in the design of various reports to measure/track performance and ensure effective management of Retail Banking. Monitor and suggest improvements in individual Banking Center profitability reports.
Works with the Bank's Internal Audit team and Compliance team to identify areas of concern in the audits of the banking center and troubleshoot potential problems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures.
Assists in assessing the potential risk on behalf of Retail Banking for the Bank's Business Continuity Planning efforts. Communicate and work with Bank's CIO in resolving any contingency related incidents that occur throughout the year.
Contributes to the development and review of Retail Banking policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in business related field or equivalent work related experience required with Masters' degree a plus.
Minimum 15 years of banking experience with a minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in Retail Banking.
Prior expe ience as a Banking Center Manager required
Ability to lead and mentor with strong decision making skills
Ability to act independently and work in fast-paced environment while never compromising quality and/or compliance
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure to ensure prudent decision making
Good understanding of bank financial reporting
Strong leadership skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Goal oriented and proactive individual focused on results set forth by Bank's strategic plan.
