Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $25 / Hour

What you'll be doing as a Welding Inspector:

  • Inspection: Visually examining welds for defects like cracks, porosity, and misalignment.

  • They may also use specialized non-destructive testing (NDT) methods like X-ray, ultrasound, and magnetic particle testing.

  • Quality Assurance: Reviewing welding procedures and specifications to ensure they comply with industry standards and project requirements.

  • Welder Qualification: Verifying that welders are properly certified and their techniques meet quality standards.

  • Safety: Ensuring that welding adheres to safety regulations and that the work environment is safe for welders.

  • Documentation: Preparing inspection reports, maintaining detailed records, and keeping stakeholders informed.

  • Collaborate with engineers and other professionals on projects.

  • Troubleshoot welding problems and recommend solutions.

  • Develop and implement quality control programs.

  • Train welders on proper techniques.

Available shifts:

Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day) & 2nd Shift (Evening)

Job requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and codes.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify weld defects.

  • Proficiency in using NDT equipment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Some employers may require certifications from organizations like the American Welding Society (AWS).

  • Must be proficient in GD & T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)

  • 2 year minimum experience in welding

  • Understanding of prints surrounding welds, blueprints

  • Indicate presence/absence of welds, skip welds, etc

  • Understand porosity, weld strength, weld specs, weld standards

  • Training to company standards on site

  • Quality inspections for backlogs, support in warehouse, harness and structures

  • Capture incoming shipments/warehouse materials on site

  • Background check and drug screen required.
