Aston Carter Sourcing Manager in Jeffersonville, Indiana

Description:

Serves as the commercial leader for assigned commodities or sourcing category. Drives cross-functional team members to create sourcing strategy to create value for the company Industries. Develops formal supply agreements to manage the commercial relationship and performance of suppliers. Serves as the main liaison to the supply base. Manages and coordinates supplier evaluation, audits, and business reviews focused on continuous improvement and creating value

2 positions

  • 1 person : Corrugated Packaging & Resin

  • 1 person : Electro Mechanical (hardware & brackets) -- emphasize commodity experience

• Performs/participates in on-site supplier audits to qualify or verify supplier capabilities, processes and quality systems.

• Works closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality to improve supplied parts, components, and subsystems.

• Supports new product development and identifies supply base for evaluation.

• Manages RFQ’s, competitive bids, and benchmarking to ensure competitive material cost.

• Evaluate proposals through total cost of ownership to identify best value.

• Negotiates formal supplier agreements with focus on value and risk mitigation.

• Documents formal category strategy and drives actions to deliver value for the company Industries.

• Continuously assessing supplier-based risk and developing action plans to mitigate those risks.

• Facilitates supplier business reviews and supplier evaluations.

• Manage the supplier information regarding certification information

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVES:

  • 3-5 years of commodity experience

  • Experience working w/ Terms and Conditions (T&C)

  • Prior experience buying for Direct Materials

  • 3-5 years of Negotiation experience (preferably RFQ's)

  • Systems: Excel, JDE, Analytical Skills

  • PREFERRED: Automotive experience
