Job Summary

Atlas Oil Company is looking for a regional safety and operations manager. This role is responsible for overseeing safety protocols and operational efficiency within a specific geographic area. This role involves developing and implementing safety procedures, conducting audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing training to staff. Additionally, analyze operational processes to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance productivity and safety standards. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise in Safety ensuring industry best practice.

  • Provide assistance to all locations to ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements.

  • Regular monthly facility visits and inspections.

  • Schedules and hosts driver/safety meetings in multiple markets

  • Participates in weekly safety meeting.

  • Responsible for updating, maintaining, and auditing location safety standards and procedures on a quarterly basis.

  • Performs monthly gate checks of assigned vehicles.

  • Drive Cam review and coaching for assigned drivers.

  • Develop effective training programs that will efficiently cover all needed/required materials.

  • Investigate all incidents to determine the root cause and provide recommendations that eliminate or reduce future hazard or risk.

  • Track and control inventory of safety supplies and equipment and work with division managers to keep adequate safety supplies on-hand.

  • Assist with driver recruiting in assigned markets.

  • Assist with training for new hires and provide ongoing training for all employees.

  • Review and update MSDS and SPCC plans as needed.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the safety program using established goals and make recommendations and implement corrective action(s) based on industry standards and best practices.

  • Serves as a safety/compliance liaison with outside organizations.

    Required Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA, DOT, NFPA, EPA, other governmental regulations and laws including requirements by our insurance providers.

  • Knowledge of instructional methods and training techniques

  • 3-5 years safety management experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of statistics, data collection and analysis.

  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations.

  • Proficient in MS Office products.

  • Occasional travel required up to 30%

    Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • HAZWOPER 40

  • Forklift training experience.
