The Regional Distribution Compliance and Safety Leader is responsible for ensuring that all distribution including both ITO and Domestic Operations comply with relevant regulatory requirements and safety standards. This role involves the development, implementation, and monitoring of policies and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant distribution environment. The leader will work closely with various functions, including Operations, Quality, and Manufacturing sites, to foster a culture of safety and compliance.

What You'll Do:

  • Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing distribution operations.

  • Focal point for IMDG, IATA, TDG and EPA regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and communicate implications to relevant stakeholders.

  • Develop, implement, and update compliance policies and procedures.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to compliance standards.

  • Customer bulk tank inspection review and approval on bulk product changeover compatibility, tank construction and EPA establishment member validation.

  • Key member in participating new logistics partner assessment and conduct audit.

  • Safety Management:

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to prevent workplace injuries and accidents.

  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues.

  • Lead safety training programs for distribution staff to ensure awareness and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Investigate and report on safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

  • Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Develop and implement safety compliance tracking dashboard.

  • Track and report compliance and safety metrics to senior management.

  • Prepare and submit required regulatory reports and documentation.

  • Maintain comprehensive records of compliance and safety activities.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Responsible for regional strategy development to improve our distribution safety and compliance.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in compliance and safety practices.

  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance safety and compliance performance.

  • Lead other cross-modal root cause analysis on unplanned events. Support RCI and analysis in correspondent countries/regions with global risk manager and logistics teams to determine corrective/preventive action plans.

  • Leadership and Training:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the compliance and safety projects and activities. Engage global and regional network to leverage best practice.

  • Lead Dangerous Goods Change management project and process development.

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops on compliance and safety topics.

  • Mentor and develop staff to build a strong compliance and safety culture.

  • Emergency Response:

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures. Develop RACI chart, communication plan and workflow instructions.

  • Coordinate and lead emergency response drills and exercises.

  • Serve as the point of contact for emergency situations, ensuring swift and effective response.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics management, Business Administration, or a related field.

What Skills You Need:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance and safety role within a distribution or logistics environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, DOT regulations, and other relevant safety standards.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Certification in safety management (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA certification) is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management software.
