About the Indiana Office of Technology (IOT):

The Indiana Office of Technology provides cost-effective, secure, consistent, reliable enterprise-technology services to our partner agencies so that they can better serve our mutual customer, the Hoosier taxpayer. IOT will also act as the technology and solution enabler for the State, helping its partner agencies achieve business objectives and innovation.

Salary:

This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $70,122. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.

Role Overview:

The Project Manager plans, organizes, and controls all operations and activities for clients. You will organize information for technology teams, contractors, agency representatives, and other stakeholders. You will communicate, plan, manage, and execute projects to keep them on time and within budget while meeting the client’s expectations. PC Refresh Projects are on a four-year rotating schedule to replace all state-issued PCs.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Manage small agency PC refresh projects.

  • Work as a deployment lead on medium and large agency PC refresh projects, working in tight collaboration with PM Intermediate or PM Senior.

  • Create and maintain project documentation.

  • Coordinate, and monitor, project staff to ensure the project is completed on time.

  • Communicate project status to appropriate management and project stakeholders.

  • Ensure that user requirements, deliverables, and approvals are defined.

  • Ensure an outcome that meets users' stated requirements.

  • Create and maintain a team atmosphere and work environment to promote project work productivity.

  • Follow IOT’s PC Refresh best practices for managing projects.

  • Perform related work as assigned by senior team members or management.

  • Work on tickets that come into the PC Refresh Ticket Queue.

What You'll Need for Success:

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

  • Knowledge of project management theories and practices and the ability to apply that knowledge.

  • Knowledge of information systems development life cycle, information technology, project tools, and approaches to development and implementation.

  • Familiarity with the business functional area under consideration for automation.

  • Ability to lead, encourage, and influence others to perform.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

  • Ability to supervise and manage diverse human resources.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
