What is the job about?

Peerless Pump Company, a Grundfos subsidiary, is seeking a Credit & Collection Specialist to join our Finance team. The Credit & Collection Specialist executes all activities as defined in the PPU Credit Policy for Peerless Pump and is responsible for timely and quality cash collection on the assigned portfolio. This position reports directly to the Finance Director and will operate out of the Indianapolis, IN facility in a hybrid function.

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Prompt, proactive and effective communication with external customers on daily basis, with obtaining current information on outstanding cash.

  • Register payment promises.

  • Make sure promises are kept and follow up on broken promises.

  • Monitor aging of accounts and initiate phone calls to customers to arrange payments on time.

  • Identify and resolve complex issues on accounts.

  • Perform total account management utilizing SAP FSCM Credit& Collection and dispute management tools.

  • Assist credit management function in order to set up right credit limits to customers.

  • Coordinate timely dispute resolution.

  • Effective collaboration with cash application function to minimize unapplied cash on the assigned portfolio.

  • Timely evaluation if credit or debits need to be issued.

  • Daily handling of order releases as per DOA.

  • Perform account reconciliations, reduce account aging as much as possible.

  • Establish clear and concise communication with debtors, internal and external stakeholders.

  • Assist in forecasting cash collection, escalate issues to appropriate internal and external contacts to minimize past due and bad debt and improve DSO.

  • Perform high standard reporting tasks to assist team management.

  • Preparation and attending reoccurring cash calls.

  • Assist in portfolio health monitoring, identify concerns, trends, write off recommendations.

  • Participate in any assigned projects, process improvements, simplification.

  • Review and finalize account creation & change requests.

  • Set and maintain credit limits in accordance with the PPU Credit Policy.

  • Notify the correct people when cash in advance payments come in.

  • Process credit card orders.

  • Collect Resale Tax Certificates on customer accounts.

Your background

We imagine that you have:

Qualified candidates will have a university or college degree in economics or finance preferred, or equivalent (or commensurate experience).

  • Most likely to have 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role or in Shared Service environment.

  • Advanced level of English.

  • One additional European language on advanced level is good advantage.

  • Great understanding and overview of the end-to-end Order to Cash processes.

  • Experience in driving projects or process improvement initiatives in an SSC environment.

  • Solid and stable Excel knowledge.

  • SAP knowledge is beneficial.

  • Travel for business as needed (less than 10%).
