The Robert Half Healthcare Practice is working with a healthcare company to add a Contract HIM Team Lead to their team. This leader will champion best practices and industry knowledge to continuously improve HIM operations.

Training: 2 weeks Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm

Hours for the Position: (2nd Shift) Monday - Friday 4pm - 12:30am

Responsibilities for the position include the following:

• Lead and Develop a High-Performing HIM Team: Motivate and coach HIM Specialists, delegate tasks effectively, and foster a collaborative environment to achieve departmental goals.

• Ensure HIM Compliance and Data Accuracy: Oversee accurate coding, classification, and abstraction of medical records, upholding HIPAA regulations and other healthcare data privacy laws.

• Manage HIM Operations and Quality Assurance: Implement efficient workflows, monitor team performance metrics, and conduct audits to ensure the smooth operation and data integrity within the HIM department.

• Champion Best Practices and Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on healthcare data privacy regulations and emerging technologies, guiding the HIM team towards continuous improvement.

• Collaborate for Effective Patient Care: Partner with other departments (e.g., IT, Nursing) to ensure seamless data exchange and contribute to initiatives that enhance patient care coordination.

• HIM regs & compliance (HIPAA, ICD-10-CM) expertise

• Team leadership, motivation & development skills

• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

• Project management & HIM software proficiency (Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, EHR System, Meditech)

• Top-notch time management & organization

• Independent & collaborative work style

• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
