What is the job about?

Peerless Pump Company, a Grundfos subsidiary, is seeking a Cash & Banking Specialist to join our Finance team. The Cash & Banking Specialist understands and performs tasks assigned to them in the area of Cash & Banking at PPU. Ensures true and fair picture of the reconciliations and internal controls. Acts as gatekeeper for the assigned activities. This position reports directly to the Finance Director and will operate out of the Indianapolis, IN facility in a hybrid function.

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Understands the assigned accounting activities performed in the area of Cash & banking for PPU.

  • Performs daily cash allocation, GL transit clearing, manual DN/CN, customer overdue follow up and monitoring unallocated cash.

  • Support migration activities.

  • Performs MEC and YEC activities, acts as owner of assigned processes (Bank reconciliation, Bad Debt Provision and Internal Controls.

  • Identifies, solves and follows up issues, if necessary, escalates to Supervisor.

  • Performs analytical tasks and communicates results to Supervisor.

  • Prepares and maintains documentation.

  • Aware of the risks and understands and maintains controls, ensures that IC are delivered as required.

  • Supports Supervisor in analyzing CPI-s/KPI-s and following up problems.

  • Effective collaboration with Credit & Collection function to minimize unapplied cash on the assigned portfolio.

  • Participate in any assigned projects, process improvements, simplification.

  • Supports the operation of the one Finance team, participates in collaboration forums.

  • Keeps contact with the affected stakeholders and key contact persons.

  • Ensures “no surprises” environment, informs Supervisor about problems and changes.

  • Proactively interact with stakeholders to raise awareness of issues encountered along with any actions taken to support resolution.

  • Seeks for continuous improvement opportunities and increase the quality of service.

  • Responsible for implementing process improvements or process standardizations.

  • Active involvement in the related projects.

  • Supports audit processes during system/process audits (internal and external).

Your background

We imagine that you have:

Qualified candidates will have a university or college degree in economics or finance preferred, or equivalent (or commensurate experience).

  • Most likely to have 3 years’ experience in the field of Cash application / Bank clearing / Payment services / Treasury.

  • Good Accounting knowledge, especially in Accounts receivable.

  • Proficiency in English is required; additional fluency in other European languages is beneficial.

  • Good understanding and overview of the end-to-end Order to Cash processes.

  • Experience in driving projects or process improvement initiatives in an SSC environment.

  • Solid and stable Excel knowledge.

  • Familiarity with SAP could be beneficial.

  • Travel for business as needed (less than 10%).
