Dr. Tavel Optical Group 2nd Shift Lab Manager in Indianapolis, Indiana
Dr. Tavel Optical Group is a family-owned medical practice that provides eyewear and eye health services to Indiana residents. The company has been operating for over 80 years, continually offering quality vision care and affordable eyewear options to the community. We are looking for a 2nd Shift Lab Manager to oversee the operations of our eyeglass manufacturing lab. This position calls for an individual who is detail-oriented, able to manage a team, and passionate about delivering high-quality products to our customers.
Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations of our eyeglass manufacturing lab during the 2nd shift.
Supervise a team of lab technicians and ensure that all eyewear products meet company standards and quality control guidelines.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely order fulfillment and delivery.
Maintain accurate and complete records of inventory, production, and quality control measures.
Troubleshoot any issues related to the manufacturing process and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.
Train new lab technicians on the proper use of equipment and adherence to quality control standards.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment for all lab team members.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Knowledge of manufacturing process control and quality control measures.
Experience in an optical environment is preferred.
Familiarity with lab equipment and tools, such as edging machines, tinting machines, and lensometers is preferred.
Willingness to work during the 2nd shift (4:00 pm to midnight).
