Description:
The Safety Compliance Engineer applies their scientific and practical knowledge of the Safety compliance field in order to innovate, design, and improve systems, processes, equipment, and tools - in their assigned areas to improve the Safety characteristics in alignment with daily operations, new model, business plan, and/or innovation to achieve or exceed targets and promote safety excellence.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide Safety Compliance support to HDMA companies. Support Plants/Divisions with implementation of Safety program requirements & client's standards including but not limited to Control of Hazardous Energy, Material handling Safety, Electrical Safety, Process Safety Management, Fall Prevention and Confined Space Management.
Proactively cycle P-D-C-A safety compliance programs to reduce injuries and hazards and ensure continuous improvement of safety characteristics of assigned areas
Leverage Safety expertise to support Plants, Department Leaders, Project Leaders, production safety advocates and/or safety committees to achieve self-sustaining safety culture and high level of safety performance.
Accurately interpret and apply the client's Safety Management manual including NA and HDMA policies and procedures. Participate in PDCA of policies and procedures based on technical expertise
Perform and document complex safety compliance activity to include: Critical communication cross verifications and implementation of strategic safety projects and initiatives.
Detailed presentation and reporting of safety activities and results including complex data analysis and trending
Subject Matter Expert (SME) Lead and support workgroups for HDMA Region and represent this client with outside organizations and committees.
Develop personal expertise and professional skills
Must Haves:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or other ABET-certified safety and health program or equivalent related experience
2-8 years of safety experience
Achievement of professional certification such as Advanced Safety Certificate, Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician, Certified Safety Professional, Safety Management Specialist.
Detailed understanding of major health and safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI)
