Job Title: Refractory Technician

Job Description

Seeking a 1st shift Refractory Technician responsible for assembling, building, and repairing structures that contain heated materials such as molten metals including furnaces and ovens. This will require you to assemble the lining, build furnace walls, and bond everything together utilizing specialized mortar. During down time, you will assist the Maintenance Department with Preventative Maintenance tasks. Machinery includes hydraulics, pneumatics, melters, furnaces, ovens, water cooling systems, vibratory equipment/tables, shaking equipment/tables, coilers, blenders, scales, etc. Must be comfortable working in small spaces, have experience working with concrete/masonry/construction/brick laying, and a High School Diploma or GED.

Essential Skills

• Experience working with concrete, construction, brick laying, or masonry.

• Comfortable working in small spaces.

• Mechanical aptitude to assist with Preventative Maintenance tasks.

• Safety-minded, attentive to details, and a good work ethic.

• High School Diploma or GED.

Work Environment

The 1st shift hours are Mon-Fri, 6am-2pm. The work involves handling machinery such as hydraulics, pneumatics, melters, furnaces, ovens, and more. You must be comfortable working in small spaces and be prepared to get super dirty, though uniforms are provided.
