Our Autonomy Visualization and Mission Planning team is looking for an experienced Senior Principal Software Enginee r to join our team. This is an onsite position located in Fort Wayne, IN. At Collins Aerospace, you will work on cutting edge technology and contribute to programs that save lives and enable the freedoms we enjoy.

What You Will Do: ​

  • Drive technology advancement in a Java/Angular based visualization framework

  • Build reusable and custom user interfaces that provide an intuitive and modern experience with intentional design for adaptability and reuse

  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for the visualization technology stack

  • Design and implement methods of composable and adaptable product lines and product builds

  • Help define and burn down backlog of work items in coordination with team/program leads

  • Collaborate with customer and user community to incorporate user feedback.

  • Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, flight test, and field support.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support system integration and test, customer events, and related external activities.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Experience with designing and implementing a large scale modularized, reusable product base that supports multiple products.

  • Fluent in Angular, Java, OSGI; and able to perform and lead a technical team with minimal onboarding.

  • Typically requires 10+ years of work-related experience with Software Engineering, in particular with the skills listed.

  • Experience with normalizing data from multiple sources for user display.

  • Experience spanning software design, implementation, testing, and system integration of large systems.

  • Experience working as a member of a Scrum team.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with other team members, teammates, and disciplines.

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience leading a software team, SCRUM Master or similar.

  • Experience with Eclipse, Git, Visual Studio Code, Rational Team Concert, JIRA, Docker, Java, Angular.

  • Experience with data adaption and multiple system integration.

  • Domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas:  Mission Planning, Electronic Warfare, Sensors.

  • Master of Science degree (M.S.) in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field.

  • Ability to work on site as required for lab integration and team collaboration.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
