[Job Title: Analytical Engineer

[Duties: Regal Rexnord Corporation seeks an Analytical Engineer in Fort Wayne, Indiana to conduct mechanical engineering. Design and optimize mechanical fluid flow solutions for key performance flow points (rated and stall) to improve the operating range of the machine. Support new product development and mechanical fluid solutions from component design through finished assembly. Conduct shape/geometry optimization for product internal flow manipulation to reduce flow separation, reduce pressure drop, reduce non uniform flow, and improve product efficiency. Perform multiphase fluid flow CFD analysis, conjugate heat transfer analysis to improve heat transfer coefficient, and transient heat transfer analysis. Utilize ANSYS Fluent and Solidworks to develop and optimize products. Perform structural analysis to optimize mechanical systems, limit the maximum yield stress, and conduct modal analysis to avoid resonant frequency, blade fluttering, and excessive vibration. Improve fluid solutions by refining aerodynamic shape and static pressure rise of products to reduce flow separation of the total system. Conduct structural analysis and review design variables including aspect ratio, solidity, curvature, flow path, row spacing, blade angles and optimize on 2D/3D level using genetic/evolutionary algorithm. Develop methods to reduce the broadband and tonal noise of axial, centrifugal fans, and blowers. Develop mesh independent CFD models and correlation models. Create reliability test plans, develop new test protocols, and specify and design custom test setups to verify product design and model correlations. Interpret simulation data and guide product engineering for optimization. Annual salary: $82,493 - $125,400/year.

[Minimum Requirements: Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, plus two years of mechanical engineering experience. Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: 1. Conducting shape/geometry optimization for product internal flow manipulation to reduce flow separation, reduce pressure drop, and reduce non uniform flow; 2. Utilizing ANSYS Fluent and Solidworks; 3. Performing multiphase fluid flow CFD analysis, conjugate heat transfer analysis to improve heat transfer coefficient, and transient heat transfer analysis; 4. Improving fluid solutions by refining aerodynamic shape and static pressure rise of products to reduce flow separation of the total system; 5. Developing mesh independent CFD models and correlation models; and 6. Creating reliability test plans, developing new test protocols, and specifying and designing custom test setups to verify product design and model correlations.
