Join Purdue University Fort Wayne:Purdue University Fort Wayne is currently seeking a 4th Assistant Womens Basketball Coach for Player Development in our Athletics department. This position assists in the development and promotion of a competitive NCAA Division I Women's Basketball program. Specific duties include student-athlete workouts, practice content, video management, managing team analytics, and opponent scouting. This position pays an annual salary of $25,000.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understand, follow, and enforce all NCAA bylaws, League regulations, and university academic and other policies and procedures.
  • Manage player development workouts and their workout schedules.
  • Log and report players hours, reps, and stats to CARA manager.
  • Maintain daily attendance and manage roles for practice players and managers.
  • Assist with the running of practices and practice content.
  • Reinforce and uphold team rules, behavior guidelines, and expectations consistent with university, NCAA and Athletic Department policies during practices and workouts.
  • Create and foster an environment that promotes the overall health and welfare of student-athletes.
  • Support and promote the Athletic Departments mission, values and principles at public relations functions on campus and in the community.
  • Teach and lead managers with taking, keeping, and logging practice and game stats.
  • Analyze team analytical data and communicate to athletic department staff weekly.
  • Assist in compiling and managing team film and software used to present film and date to team.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain clips for video dictionary and video playback.
  • Organize and prepare film for team meetings and for player development / individual meetings.
  • Participate in development activities under the direction of the Director of Athletics and/or Head Coach in conjunction with efforts of the Office of Advancement.
  • Prepare, organize and present opponent scouting report to team.
  • Assume temporary administrative roles as required/needed by the Athletic Department.
  • Assist with daily scheduling and logistics of facility availability with other staffs.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, searches, committees as requested.
  • Actively participate and assist in the evaluation of and formulation of departmental policies as requested.
  • As requested, work with marketing to create positive publications benefiting your team, the Athletic Department and the general campus.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors degree.
  • Some experience playing or coaching at the collegiate level.
  • Aware of NCAA DI rules, fundamentals, techniques, and rules of sport.
  • Able to effectively communicate with student-athletes, faculty, and staff.
  • Capable of assisting with recruitment under highly selective academic and athletic standards.
  • Able to assist in the assessment of athletic skills and instruct athletes in techniques of sport.
  • Able to assist in the development of game strategies.
  • Knowledge of video editing software and current available technology.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and remain in compliance with the Purdue University Motor Vehicle Records Check policy.
