Responsibilities

  • Report and correct any unsafe or potential unsafe conditions

  • MyDevelopment Courses – Expert Insights on Measuring & Managing Performance; Detecting & Dealing with Performance Problems; Remaining Tactful & Diplomatic Under Pressure

  • Insure that all team members police their areas prior to ending their shift

  • MyDevelopment Course – Expert Insights on Coaching

  • Conduct a minimum of three checks on all areas to insure policies and housekeeping compliance is in order

  • Understand that professional conduct is expected at all times

  • Perform all Logistics Traffic Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Dept. completes all yearly HR required MyDevelopment Courses

  • Train new and existing employees to perform job functions correctly

  • MyDevelopment Course – Developing the People you Lead; Building the Foundation For An Effective Team

  • Insure all equipment is being maintained and kept clean

  • Coordinate trailer moves and issues with Logistics Leadership at all facilities

  • Completed and scored highly on all yearly HR required MyDevelopment Courses

AUTHORITIES

  • Initiate pre-shift meetings within the department and provide opportunity for weekly team meetings as needed.

  • Share daily safety talks with the department with material supplied by EHS Department

  • Track and monitor productivity using Fleetmatics

  • Track and Report productivity metrics

  • MyDevelopment Course – Getting to Know Macros in Excel

  • Fill out accidents reports in Accident Reporting Database

  • Respond timely to Emails

  • MyDevelopment Course – E-Mail Etiquette: Tone and Formatting; Answering an E-Mail

  • Process Repair and Fueling Invoices

  • Activate/Deactivate and Manage leased trailers

  • Maintain Training and Accuracy of Dock Manager and Trancollector

  • Assist in preparing written training documentation for various systems and associated reports, including system specifications, test plans and written procedures as necessary

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of terminals and computers and a proven ability to apply that knowledge

  • Prior shipping and fork truck experience

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct employees

  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Stereoptic vision of 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12-18 inches

  • Able to work in extremes of heat / cold

  • Prior shipping experience preferred

  • Class A CDL Required

  • Valid DOT Physical

  • High school diploma / GED equivalent
