Where is the work:

This will be a remote field based position located within the greater Evansville, Indiana area.

What you will do:

This position is responsible for the programing, startup, troubleshooting and repairing, of Direct Digital Control (DDC), Building Automation Systems (BAS). This position utilizes knowledge and understanding of electrical theory in conjunction with HVAC air and hydronic systems. A thorough understanding of control loops and automation control theory is expected. Candidate shall possess knowledge and understanding of both construction and service processes utilized in the fulfillment of controls projects and services. Knowledge of Trane controls and/or third party control systems and integration platforms required.

  • Responsible for beginning to end testing, programming, start up, commissioning, and service on assigned projects.

  • Responsible for setup of graphical interfaces and network connections for controls systems.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing and repairing building automation systems at customer’s location.

  • Perform work at both new construction and existing building retrofit site work environments.

  • Coordinate with project manager and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by extensively examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing onsite work.

  • Keep current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.

  • Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.

  • Display team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.

What you will bring:

  • 3 - 8+ years experience programming, startup, commissioning and servicing Commercial Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Direct Digital Controls (DDC).

  • Associates Degree in HVAC, Electronics, or Building Automation Systems required.

  • Experience working with past and present Trane Controls systems along with any or all of the following industry standards is a plus: BACnet, LON, Modbus and Tridium Ax

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating DDC systems.

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience creating, troubleshooting and editing DDC programs and front end graphical user interfaces (GUI).

  • Practical experience interfacing & integrating DDC systems with commercial buildings electrical & mechanical equipment systems.

  • Strong knowledge of commercial building mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Strong knowledge of and ability to read, understand and update controls system submittal drawings

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems Capable of reading & interpreting mechanical & electrical blueprints.

  • Strong knowledge and practical use of utilizing a Digital Multi-meter and related controls calibration and testing tools as they pertain to servicing DDC systems and their end devices.

  • Must have strong computer user experience (Word, Excel...).

  • Must be physically able to climb ladders and stairs and use tools while on a ladder.

  • Self-motivated, can work independently or as a team member.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Base Pay Range: $30-38+/hr with the possibility for an added sign-on bonus!

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
