Your Impact at SAM We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil 3D CAD Technician to join our civil engineering team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of engineers and designers on private land development projects, focusing primarily on commercial and industrial site development. In this role you will support office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing final project deliverables. Key Responsibilities Data Processing: Process incoming field data utilizing SAM standards Evaluate the accuracy and sufficiency of data Ensure compliance with applicable industry principles under the direction of your supervisor Quality Assurance: Monitor the production and quality assurance of field crews Conduct initial quality control (QC) of field deliverables according to standards and best practices Coordination and Communication: Coordinate with your supervisor to ensure client-specific demands and expectations are being met Maintain clear and effective communication with field and office staff to facilitate project completion Project Collaboration: Work collaboratively with engineers and designers on detailed civil engineering designs for land development projects Prepare site development plans, specifications, and cost estimates under the guidance of the Project Manager Technical Analysis: Conduct technical analyses and calculations for civil engineering projects Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and other engineering tools to create and review design drawings Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards What You Bring to SAM Minimum of one year of relevant experience required Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD Civil 3D is required; MicroStation, Revit or similar application is a plus Proficiency in technical math; Geometry and Trigonometry are a plus Our Perks Opportunity for hybrid work schedules for office positions – Work-life balance is on us Company paid premiums for medical, dental, vision, LTD and life insurance (HSA and FSA plans available) Generous paid time off (vacation, sick, holidays and parental leave) – Accrual starts immediately 401(k) program offers 100% employer match up to 5% Paid continuing education courses and tuition reimbursement Employee Assistance Program – Your mental health is our priority No glass ceiling!
