Part Time, Evenings, varies About The Position: Part-time; Evenings; 20hrs/week; variable start time 4pm or 5pm

Provides health care services, applying sonic energy and Doppler technology to assist in diagnosis or treatment. The Vascular Technologist performs ultrasonic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate vascular anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. The Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in one of the following areas: OB/GYN, abdomen, neurosonology, and/or ophthalmology. Exercises professional judgment while incorporating the Standards of Service and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

Demonstrates proficiency in Ultrasound and/or Vascular Technology testing. This is the level at which the Technologist assumes all responsibilities for all categories of Ultrasound or Vascular lab testing. The Technologist has satisfactorily completed the orientation and the evaluation period (minimum of 90 days). Satisfactory performance evaluation by the coordinator/manager is required to be promoted to the Senior Diagnostic Medical Sonographer level.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE RDMS or RVT certification is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS As a part of continuous quality improvement this position may be required to attend education seminars which are remote to the campus of ColumbusRegionalHospital. The educational offerings would be relevant to the scope of the position, the employee education, position competency requirements and or current developments within the industry. Must be CPR Certified. RDMS or RVT certification is required. The required CE credits must be maintained in accordance with the accrediting bodies requirements.
