Robert Half Tax Director/Manager - Corporate in Carmel, Indiana

Description

We are in the market for a skilled Tax Director/Manager to join our manufacturing team in Carmel, Indiana. This role involves managing the day-to-day activities of the tax department to support US Federal and State tax compliance, This includes analyzing, and reporting on US and Controlled Foreign Corporate tax returns, as well as providing support for income tax filings and general ledger analysis. In this role you will work closely with both internal and external resources, including coordination with our outside CPA firm.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review U.S. federal and state tax returns that are prepared by a third party provider.

• Originate and coordinate tax schedules required for returns, such as 5471’s, taxable income, tax timing reconciliations.

• Perform research and coordinate with the corporate finance team for domestic tax reporting compliance.

• Research and prepare tax answers to questions from third party providers, auditors, and tax jurisdictions.

• Create and maintain control schedules for worldwide tax provisions and compliance reporting.

• Handle State non-resident withholding filings and state franchise tax filings.

• Preparation of state income tax quarterly estimates and extensions calculations.

• Develop a process to input data into ONE SOURCE (Thomson Reuters) tax software maintained by a third party provider.

• Utilize technology to create workpapers and import/export data.

• Continuously improve processes in the tax compliance and reporting area.

Skills required include Accounting Functions, Compliance, OneSource, Annual Income Tax Provision, Annual Tax Provision, Federal Tax Return, and Multi-state Tax Returns.

Requirements • Must possess at least 5 years of experience in a Tax Director/Manager role within the manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in various accounting functions is required

• A strong understanding and ability to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations

• Experience with OneSource software is highly desirable

• Must be capable of managing and preparing the Annual Income Tax Provision

• Experience with the preparation and review of Annual Tax Provisions is essential

• Must have experience preparing Federal Tax Returns

• Experience with Multi-state Tax Returns is a strong advantage

• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills are essential

• Must hold a relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field

• Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) are highly desirable.
