Bluffton Fire Protection Territory Firefighter / Paid-on-Call in Bluffton, Indiana
The Bluffton Fire Protection Territory is seeking applications from individuals who possess the desire to be a servant for our community, provide for public safety, and represent the City of Bluffton in a professional and ethical manner. BFPT paid-on-call firefighters work a 24/48 paid-on-call shift schedule.
Applicant Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a high school graduate or possess a High School Equivalency or GED
- Possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable (insurable) driving record
- Reside in Harrison or Lancaster Township or any township adjoining.
- Have no record of felony convictions
- Have no misdemeanor conviction of domestic violence
- If prior military, be honorably discharged
- Hold current certifications in Firefighter I and II, NIMS 100, 200, 700 and 800, Hazmat Operations, EMR or EMT (Minimum of Emergency Medical Responder certification is desired). Or be willing to get these certifications.
- Be of good moral character and possess a high degree of honesty and integrity
- Possess an acceptable level of verbal and written skills to successfully execute the essential duties and functions of the job
- Possess an acceptable level of dexterity to successfully execute the essential duties and functions of the job
- Possess the ability to interact appropriately with the public, employees, team members, elected officials and others
Wage
- Probationary starting Wage (2024 salary ordinance) $17.97 per run/hour worked (12 pays per year)
