Job Title: 2nd or 3rd Shift Custodian

Job Description

As a Custodian, you will take pride in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the facilities and grounds on campus. You will be responsible for:

• Cleaning floors, servicing restrooms, emptying trash and recycling, dusting furniture, and cleaning windows.

• Replace light bulbs, polish fixtures, prepare cleaning solutions, and steam clean carpets.

• May include maintenance tasks such as identifying and reporting needed building repairs and assisting with snow removal.

• The role involves physical effort and a fast-paced environment, as you will be expected to clean and move across your zone efficiently.

• In addition, you will occasionally interact with students and faculty, so a customer service mindset is crucial.

Hard Skills

• Custodial or janitorial experience

• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs

• Ability to prepare cleaning solutions

• Ability to perform maintenance tasks like replacing light bulbs and identifying needed repairs

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Shift & Pay

• 2nd shift: Monday - Friday (5:30pm - 2:00am) / $15

• 3rd shift: Sunday Night - Monday Morning (10:00pm - 6:30am) / $15

• when contract goes to full time, pay goes up to $16.41 with shift differentials

Work Site

• This is a fully on-site position in Bloomington, Indiana.

Work Environment

• The work environment involves covering different zones across campus, adapting to varying needs based on management requests.

• You could be assigned anywhere from administrative buildings to dorms and athletic facilities.

• The role involves physical effort and a fast-paced environment, as you will be expected to clean and move across your zone efficiently.

• It can be physically demanding, requiring you to be on your feet for the duration of the shift.

• You must be willing to get dirty if needed to clean anything that would create a mess on campus.
